Vacancy Caribbean Institute for Meteorology & Hydrology Senior Administrative Officer The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology & Hydrology (CIMH), Husbands, St. James, Barbados invites applications for the post of Senior Administrative Officer (SAO). CIMH is a CARICOM organization specializing in tertiary level training and research and development in Meteorology and Hydrology. CIMH is an affiliate of the University of the West Indies and a recognized Regional Training Centre (RTC) by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). DUTIES The successful candidate will head the Institute's Administrative Section and serve as the Secretary to the Institute’s Board of Governors. Specific duties include:
QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualification for the position is a B.Sc. degree in either Accounting or Management and 10 years of professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates holding a professional designation from an internationally recognized accounting body. Proven management skills would be an asset. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS Applications from CARICOM citizens will receive preferential consideration. A relocation package will be paid to candidates living outside of Barbados at the time of application. The closing date for applications is August 8, 2008 and the successful candidate will be expected to start work on September 15, 2008. Applications should include a resume and the names of 3 referees. Letters from referees should be received no later than the closing date for application. An attractive compensation package including non-contributory Group Health and a contributory Pension is being offered.
