CIMH hosts Satellite Data Training workshop for Caribbean meteorological officers

May 5, 2016

This week at CIMH, meteorological officers from across the Caribbean are attending a Satellite Data Training workshop to learn how to use remote sensing satellite data and imagery for weather and climate monitoring and resilience.

Presented in partnership with the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) at Colorado State University (CSU), the four day event gives participants hands-on training on how the data supports the collection and analysis of measurements for rainfall, temperature, dust and volcanic ash, as well as weather and climate hazard monitoring and research.

The workshop is a result of our Programme for Building Regional Climate Capacity in the Caribbean (BRCCC Programme), made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
